VX1000 ALUMINUM VOLLEYBALL SYSTEM
|
Note: If you are including ground sleeves in your installation, two weeks should be allowed for the
cement to properly cure. See additional instructions below for ground sleeve installation.
1) Assemble Winch End Post (VX1000/1)
a) Slide the large collar onto the post bottom, move it up to the tightening handle and secure it in
place.
b) Bolt the strap ratchet to this post as pictured. Caution: This ratchet will be under high tension when
in use. Tighten Firmly. To keep your worm gear winch from wearing out prematurely, periodic light
lubrication is required.
c) Place the large spring into the top of the post bottom and slide the post top over the spring into the
post bottom. A small amount of lubricant may be necessary for smooth operation. Hold the two pieces
in place by tightening the handle.
2) Assemble Non-Winch Post (VX1000/2)
a) Slide the large collar into place on the bottom post as above.
b) The small collar is only used for a two court system with this as the center standard. Slide this collar
on the post top from the bottom and secure in place. Insert the spring and pos top into the post
bottom as previously described. Place both posts in the ground sleeves.
3) Assemble the Net (VBNETAP)
Unpack the net and hook one end into the non-winch post by pulling the pin out at the top of the post
just enough to slip the cable loop over the pin and re-insert the pin. Hook the other cable end to the
snap ring attached to the strap winch. Adjust the post tops to the correct height (the post tops are
marked for men’s and women’s play with circular indentions). Tighten the strap ratchet until the net is
taut.
-----------------------------------------------
NOTE: Aluminum posts are designed to flex under tension.
They will return to normal when tension is released.
-------------------------------------------------------
4) Attach the Net Tightening Kit
a) Insert the bottom rope through the rope tightener by pulling out the center plunger and feeding the
rope through the center hole (see Figure 01).
b) Tie the loose end through the eye of the snap fastener. Use the second snap fastener to attach
the rope to the large collar. (Only one rope tightener is needed.)
5) Use the 6 velcro net straps to secure the netting
to the posts.
6) Attach the antennae using the net clips provided.

INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
FOR EXISTING FLOORS
1. Determine sleeve locations and exact centers and mark floor. Distance between
poles should be 36’ center to center.
2. Using a circle cutter, cut a 6¾” diameter circle in the finished floor to a depth of 1/4”.
(You should now have a 6 ¾” diameter groove in the floor.
3. Centered in the grooved circle, cut an approximate 5” diameter hole completely
through the floor to the concrete slab.
4. Check total thickness of the floor (from top of concrete slab to top of finished floor), if
total floor thickness (sleepers, sub-floor, etc.) exceeds 5”, consult factory before
proceeding.
5. Cut a 5” diameter hole through the concrete slab using a core bit or a series of
smaller holes and chisel to achieve the proper diameter.
6. Using a small trowel or hand spade dig out a hole under the concrete slab to create
a bell at least 20” in diameter and 10” deep, measuring from the finished floor.
7. Using a router, cut out to the 6 ¾” diameter circle (step #2) in the finished floor to a
depth of 1/4” to accept the sleeve rim assembly.
7a. You will now have a 6 ¾” diameter x 1/4” hole with a 5 diameter hole centered within
this hole.
8. Mix a quantity of non-shrinking cement (to be furnished by installer) and fill hole to
approximately 6” below finished floor.
9. Push sleeve assembly into grout and work up and down to insure that hole under
slab is completely full and that there is sufficient grout to fill hole to within 1” of finished
floor. Center Sleeve in opening with upper end 9/16” below the finished floor, and
accurately plumb unit using one of the end poles. Use a level on the pole to insure that
sleeve is vertical to the floor. CAUTION: Failure to plumb the sleeve properly will cause
upright standard to lean.
10. Lay the 6 ¾” diameter sleeve rim in opening, route a slot under the cover hinge for
easy cover operation. Secure in position using four (4) #14 x 1 ¼” LG. Phillips flat head
screws or other fasteners as necessary for your floor type.
Should you have any questions, contact the factory before proceeding.
Please note: If floor design differs from this diagram, the help of a professional
contractor is suggested.
