1. Attach the rim to the post without the backboard.
2. Dig the hole for the post on the baseline line for the 4’ overhang goal
and 1’ behind the baseline for the 5’ overhang goal. For 4’ extension, dig
hole 60” deep. For 5’ extension, dig hole 48” deep.
3. Adjust the depth of the hole so that the top of the rim is 10’ above the
playing surface.
4. Assure that the rim is horizontal by placing a level on the rim. Due to the
slight variations in the bend, do not use the level vertically on the post.
5. Once you are satisfied that the post is set at the proper dimension,
firmly brace the post. Then pour concrete in the footing.
6. Allow concrete to dry for 48 hours, than re-attach the rim with the
backboard.
NOTE: Production tolerances for bending the gooseneck post are + or -
2%. To ensure horizontal alignment of the rim (goal), please follow these
instructions.
